Mark FitzGerald

Area of expertise: asthma in adults

Dr. FitzGerald is a consultant respiratory physician and director of the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Evaluation at Vancouver General Hospital, Canada. He has had an interest in asthma for many years and most recently was the main author of the acute asthma section of the new Global Initiative in Asthma (GINA) guidelines co-sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

He has done years of research and published many articles. His main research interests include acute asthma, near fatal asthma and asthma education.
