Area of expertise: bulimia

Dr. Hay is a psychiatrist at James Cook University in Townsville, Australia. She has done much research and written many papers, mainly on eating disorders.

She is also a reviewer and writer of systematic reviews for the Cochrane library, which collects and analyses research to help doctors put research into practice. Dr. Hay is the vice-president of the Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders, and is very interested in medical education.
